ACI Model Railways Supports Anglia TT:120 Modular Railway Project
ACI Model Railways is delighted to announce its support for the Anglia TT:120 Modular Railway Project, an exciting community initiative bringing railway modellers together to build and operate a large, expandable TT:120 model railway.
As part of our commitment to supporting the model railway community, ACI Model Railways has offered to sponsor the project by supplying additional DCC-EX booster modules as the railway develops and requires them.
The Anglia TT:120 Modular Railway Project brings together individual railway modellers to create a much larger layout through the use of interconnected modules.
Rather than requiring one person to build and accommodate a large model railway, participants can construct their own smaller sections, which are then joined together to form a continuous railway.
Each module can be developed independently, allowing members to concentrate on their own trackwork, scenery and detailing while contributing to the overall project.
This collaborative approach offers a number of advantages:
TT:120 scale offers an appealing balance between compact dimensions and fine detail, making it particularly interesting for a collaborative modular railway.
One of the particularly exciting aspects of the project for ACI Model Railways is its adoption of DCC-EX for digital train control.
DCC-EX is an open-source digital command control system that offers considerable flexibility for model railway operation, from smaller home layouts through to more complex installations.
For a modular railway, where the overall size and power requirements may increase as new sections are added, the ability to expand the control and power distribution system is particularly valuable.
ACI Model Railways has committed to supporting the Anglia TT:120 Modular Railway Project by providing additional DCC-EX booster modules as the layout grows and requires them.
These additional modules will help the project develop its track power distribution arrangements as the railway expands, while retaining the flexibility of the DCC-EX system.
It's an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how DCC-EX can be applied to a developing modular railway, with practical experience gained as the project progresses.
What makes the Anglia TT:120 Modular Railway Project particularly interesting is the collaborative nature of the undertaking.
Each member can contribute their own modelling skills, ideas and experience, creating a railway that reflects the combined efforts of everyone involved.
For ACI Model Railways, supporting projects like this is about more than simply supplying equipment.
It's an opportunity to encourage the practical use of DCC-EX, support the wider model railway community and help demonstrate what can be achieved when enthusiasts work together.
We're looking forward to following the development of the Anglia TT:120 Modular Railway, from the construction of individual modules through to the assembly and operation of the expanding layout.
As the project progresses, we hope to share further updates, photographs and details of how DCC-EX is being implemented across the railway.
We would also like to thank Andy and the Anglia TT:120 Modular team for welcoming ACI Model Railways as a supporter of the project.
